The APOLLON Music and Literary Club represents Karya. Its roots are identified in the 1930’s. The intense cultural concerns led to the idea of establishing the Musical – Philological Group in 1956, in order to preserve, spread and promote the traditions of Lefkada. The development of the dance department was impressive. Children and young people aged 7 to 35 years join the dance divisions. They have participated in most of the Folklore Festival of our country and in many International Festivals. Indicatively we mention Agrinio, Dafni, Thessaloniki, Livadia, Xanthi, Preveza, Siatista, Filiatra and in Italy, France, Turkey, Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria. Since 1963 they have been participating in the International Festival of Lefkada.
